There is a reason why I majored in 'the arts'.

I started drawing out the stay patterns yesterday. A bit of based off measurements, a bit haphazard guessing (I forgot about some random measurements that would have been good to know, but overall it's nothing that can be easily adjusted in a fitting).

Then of course, I realize that I'm drafting according to Sapphire's exact measurements....crap.

Ok, so I need to have plenty of 'gap-age' in the back. Which mean's I whacked off a 1/2 inch on each piece. Being a 4 piece stay pattern, that's 2 inches on each side, totalling 4 inches total. I'm also taking into consideration a 'post-Greece "weight gain" ' weight loss. Not that she really has room to loose weight. By taking down 4 inches on her measurements this means that the bust measurements are 24" and her waist is 20". Seriously.

I'm tempted just to steal stays from the Nordiskmuseet.

Anyways- What I want to know, is how the hell did I manage to take off the necessary measurements, and the waist came out perfect, but the bust was only a 1/4 inch smaller than the original measurements? What the hell did I do? Ugh. I hate math. Grrr.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
